Hi! My name is Estelle Buys. I'm an artist, living and working in South Africa. Every once in a while, as I'm sure you will all agree, one comes across someone in the same line of work that is really outstanding in what he does.Someone so talented that one feels the world should take note....
I would like to introduce you to such a person, and it is with pride that I present the work of John Moore.
John Mark Moore, born on the 27th June 1972, lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.
John is a conceptual artist who creates environmental works through the printmaking medium. He combines evocative wildlife imagery adding thought provoking meaningful elements to his work. Since his childhood, John has had a passion for creating wildlife art.
John's techniques include etching, lithography, silk-screen and woodblock printing. He has recently completed a commission for the largest woodcut in South Africa. His work has been sold to clients as far afield as America, Europe and England.
All oil based inks are light fast and are of the highest standard. The paper used is acid free and is imported from Europe and Japan.
Moore's larger works show that he has the technical skill to place him in the league of the mega-printers. Yet many of his smaller pieces are equally impressive because he combines imagery that render the works profound. Some of the creatures he depicts have a tremendous sense of dignity. Others are deliciously bizarre.
